This course provides an introduction to the fundamentals of basic biblical counseling, emphasizing scriptural prescriptions for man’s physical, mental, and spiritual needs. Prerequisite: None

General Principles of Biblical Counseling

This biblical counseling course looks at the fundamentals of biblical counseling. The sufficiency of Scripture will be addressed as well as practical application of the principles and precepts of the Word of God. The student will be equipped to use the Bible as the core of their counseling ministry. Prerequisite: None

Christian Ministry Counseling

This will be an in-depth look at the counseling responsibilities of the ministry counselor. The class will include a study of the techniques to be used in order to provide biblical counsel to those who are hurting and in need of guidance. It will also discuss the precautions that need to be taken by a pastor and staff when counseling. Prerequisite: None

Preventative Youth Counseling

This course addresses topics pertaining to preventative counsel for teenagers and their parents and explores the most effective ways to prepare teens for the more common challenges and transitions of life. The knowledge and skills presented are most relevant for the Christian young adult but are applicable to any teen. Some of the core topics covered in this course include having a biblical perspective in life, making wise decisions, understanding God’s will, and engaging in mature relationships. Prerequisite: None
