Creating a Named Scholarship

Most of the specifications of a named scholarship are decided by the individual donor. You can choose the requirements for the awardees, as well as the quantity and dollar amount of each scholarship. When you decide a named scholarship is the best way to leave a lasting legacy or honor a loved-one, our Development Office staff would love to walk you through the formulation of these plans.
Once solidified, a written policy statement will be sent to you confirming that your wishes will be carried out in the years to come.
All named scholarships will be recognized with a full page on our website describing the heart and values with which the gift was given. Honoring your legacy will be our priority. Names of the recipients of your scholarship will be provided upon request.
Example:
Robert and Mary Johnson are passionate for young men and women to go to foreign fields as
missionaries. They decide to donate $30,000 to an endowment fund at WCBC for this purpose. Each year, three approved missions majors will receive a Johnson-Missions Scholarship of $500. This endowment will continue indefinitely. Over the first 20 years, the contribution of the Johnson family could have potentially helped 60 missionaries get to the foreign field.
