Team Effort

One plants, one waters, God gives the increase. The Monila family had no idea how God would bring together a team of laborers from West Coast Baptist College to lead them to salvation.
Hannah Walker (freshman) and Leah Cole (sophomore) were out soulwinning one day when they met Sonia Monila. Sonia was happy to talk to the girls because her daughter had gone to Vacation Bible School at Lancaster Baptist Church and had a great time. After a few minutes of getting to know each other, Hannah asked Sonia about her eternal destiny. About thirty minutes later, Sonia prayed to accept Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour.
All three ladies at the door were ecstatic. Sonia was the first person Hannah had ever led to the Lord, Leah was happy to see someone saved that day, and of course, Sonia was the most joyful of them all. But that’s not the end of the story.
“You have to come back and tell my husband this,” Sonia told the ladies. The ladies were nervous about witnessing to the husband, but they promised to have one of the men from the college come back. That day they contacted Brandon McIntire (junior) and he agreed to visit the home.
And Brandon did visit, again, and again without catching the husband at home. Finally, on the forth attempt, Brandon met Louis Monila. When Brandon share the Gospel Louis prayed to receive Christ. God was obviously working in this family.
The whole family came the next day to church on a Wednesday night, and their daughter received Christ. The following Sunday evening, the entire family asked to be baptized! Today, Louis and Sonia are enrolled in an adult Sunday School class and faithfully attending Lancaster Baptist Church.
It took a team effort—a freshman lady who had never brought a person to the Lord before, VBS workers who cared for a little girl, and a man willing to go back until he could share the Gospel. But together, they were used by God to see a whole family impacted for eternity.
