Revival Services in PNG

Few mission fields match the development challenges of Papua New Guinea (PNG). It is estimated that approximately forty percent of PNG's population lives in poverty (making less than one US dollar per day). Though rich in diversity, both geographically and culturally, deteriorating communication and transportation conditions make access to healthcare, education, and employment difficult for most people.

In this setting, Kenny Keck, a WCBC senior traveling for the Barnabas team, is currently assisting his father in sharing the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Kenny's father has served as a missionary to PNG for sixteen years, diligently laboring to lead people to Christ's saving grace.

This past week, Kenny had the opportunity to preach at the Wau Baptist Church's revival services with four hundred people in attendance. Throughout the services, many accepted Christ as Saviour, and Christians dedicated themselves to live godly lives for the Lord that would make a difference in their communities. Kenny praised the Lord for working through him, “God blessed and worked throughout the revival...I had never preached to that many people before, and it was intimidating, but God gave me the courage to preach His Word.”

In this country God is demonstrating His goodness and love which knows no boundaries or favoritisms. Pray that God will bring revival to PNG. Pray that He will protect His people and strengthen the hearts of those who selflessly serve Him.
