Opening Week 2010
Chapels
Opening Week we were privileged to hear from Dr. R.B. Ouellette, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Bridgeport, MI, and Dr. David Gibbs, Jr, the President and Founder of Christian Law Association. Many decisions were made as these men stood and proclaimed God’s Word. It has been our tradition the last several years to welcome both these men to help us start a great semester of chapels.
Activities After the Services
Amidst all the orientation and registration of Opening Week, there was much fun to be had here on our campus. The Oasis was open and full of students, there were activities after the evening services on the ball field, and on Thursday night we had a cookout on the ball field with homemade ice cream sundaes followed by Youth Conference videos from the vault.
Dodger Game
It was Dodgers vs. Giants at this year’s annual trip to Dodgers Stadium. The students enjoyed seats behind home plate as before the game Dr. Toby Weaver and Dr. Jerry Goddard were announced on the field. In addition to a 4-2 Dodger win the students and faculty also enjoyed a beautiful Labor Day firework show.
Water Park
Just a few miles from the college is Dry Town Water Park. The last few years we have rented out this entire water park for our students to enjoy. They guys enjoyed the three story tall sides in the morning and the girls were also able to enjoy the park in the afternoon. Dry Town is complete with a 1,000 foot long lazy river, Olympic size pool and all the amenities of a water park.
