When a local civic group wanted to honor Marcus Luttrell, a Navy SEAL who received the Navy Cross for his distinguished service in Operation Red Wing, they brought together uniformed members of the armed forces, elected city officials, and a distinguished group of citizens. For this solemn, patriotic event, West Coast Baptist College received a request to provide an a cappella ensemble to sing "God Bless America" just before Mr. Luttrell spoke about his remarkable experience fighting the Taliban. The ensemble's moving, powerful performance was highly praised and perfectly set the tone for this patriotic event.
